Berjaya Corp Bhd and Kim Eng Holdings Ltd called off their discussions where the latter was to be a strategic investor in Inter-Pacific Securities Sdn Bhd. Berjaya Corp. Both parties have mutually agreed to discontinue discussions on the possible partnership. The partnership proposal would have resulted in Kim Eng emerging as a “strategic investor in the stockbroking business of Inter-Pacific Securities”.
Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim has given its consent for the Langat 2 water treatment plant to be built in the state, bringing to an end an impassse on the matter between the state and the federal government. Khalid had also expressed the hope that the matter be resolved urgently so as to avoid a water crisis in Selangor and the Federal Territories in the near future. Kulim’s interests in London listed New Britain Palm Oil Ltd and QSR are collectively bigger than the former’s own market cap of about rm2.7 billion. Its interest in both companies are valued at about rm2.9 billion.
